Appetizers are half price for everyone. There is volleyball right at the water's edge and only nubile women can play. There is also a dock where we can park the boat as long as we want, complete with electricity and it's only 25 cents per foot per night. Unfortunately, we are still looking for this place.
Please don't take this personally, but one thing I am not is a travel agent. I can only relate our experiences at places we have been, and let the folks following this blog decide for themselves, but as you can see by my description of our "favorite place", it could be very different from that of someone else.
However, we would like to see you and Gene if you visit the Keys this Spring, if in fact, we are still here. We have committed to four months here already and the I won't even think about how much longer we'll stay here until some time in January.
The best advice I can give anyone who is intrigued by a location we are in, and they want to visit, is to find a place online, see if it fits their budget, and then we can see how far it may be from where we are, and the logistics of meeting, given that we don't have wheels.
If I find the nude women's volleyball sign up sheet, should I pencil you in?
Swing Sethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18154555877968708725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5720229159132630924.post-12731944394998631692013-09-30T17:08:20.524-07:002013-09-30T17:08:20.524-07:00Mike and Rosie; glad your travels have been wonder...Mike and Rosie; glad your travels have been wonderful! I'm sure you've had some sketchy passages, tho! So, if we decided to visit the Keys in the spring; do you have a suggestion? I've been to Key Largo (John and Debi) but would like your input on an area that would be a fun place to hang out. Our biggest disappointment is how much more expensive dockage is, but it's not insurmountable. An occasional stint in a mooring field or on the hook helps our finances keep up with the budget.
Hopefully we'll still be boppin' around down here if you ever make the trip again.
MikeSwing Sethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18154555877968708725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5720229159132630924.post-11000563583922904432013-09-28T10:36:09.470-07:002013-09-28T10:36:09.470-07:00It's The Keys, man. My grandfather had a Karmann Ghia with a tiny back seat, in which my sister and I rode as we tooled around southern Florida. Grandpa wanted a Porsche, but he lived in a mobile home and worked part-time for some sketchy realtor, so he drove the VW.

Finally we drove all the way out The Keys to Key West. I loved it. My father and I went deep-sea fishing for a day and I caught three or four that we gave away cause there was no kitchen in the room at the Holiday Inn. During most of the morning, the crew of the fishing boat was tracking a Goliath grouper, and in the early afternoon brought it up. It was the biggest damned fish I'd ever seen. Somewhere I still have a picture of my father and me standing next to it. Nowadays it's critically endangered, but back then it seemed pretty cool that anybody could actually catch a fish that size on a line.

That was 1965, almost fifty years. Been wanting to get back ever since.Ed Schuldtnoreply@blogger.com
